Barangay Papallasen

Barangay Papallasen is a small barangay in the municipality of Burgos, located in the province of Pangasinan, in the Ilocos Region region of the Philippines.

According to the 2020 Census of Population and Housing conducted by the Philippine Statistics Authority, Barangay Papallasen had a population of 1,952. This made it the 4th largest of 14 barangays in Burgos by population, placing it in the upper half of the municipality. Residents of Barangay Papallasen accounted for approximately 8.22% of the total population of Burgos, which stood at 23,749 in the same census year.

Census comparisons between 2015 and 2020 show Barangay Papallasen moving from 1,718 residents to 1,952 residents, an intercensal change of +13.6%. The trajectory indicates a growing community. The Philippine Statistics Authority classifies Barangay Papallasen as rural, a designation applied to barangays with lower population density and predominantly non-built-up land use.

Burgos is a municipality comprising 14 barangays, and serves as the governing unit directly responsible for local services in Barangay Papallasen, including public health, sanitation, peace and order, and civil registration. Within the wider province of Pangasinan, which contains 1,364 barangays across its component cities and municipalities, Barangay Papallasen ranks 653rd by 2020 population. The next Barangay and Sangguniang Kabataan Elections (BSKE) are scheduled for Monday, November 2, 2026, with officials serving four-year terms under Republic Act No. 12232.
