Barangay Pogoruac

Barangay Pogoruac forms part of Burgos, a municipality in Pangasinan, and is classified as a mid-sized barangay.

According to the 2020 Census of Population and Housing conducted by the Philippine Statistics Authority, Barangay Pogoruac had a population of 2,525. This made it the 2nd largest of 14 barangays in Burgos by population, placing it among the most populous barangays of the municipality. Residents of Barangay Pogoruac accounted for approximately 10.63% of the total population of Burgos, which stood at 23,749 in the same census year.

Between the 2015 and 2020 censuses, the population of Barangay Pogoruac changed from 2,405 to 2,525, a shift of +5.0% over the five-year period. This places the barangay among those with growing populations in Burgos. The Philippine Statistics Authority classifies Barangay Pogoruac as rural, a designation applied to barangays with lower population density and predominantly non-built-up land use.

Burgos is a municipality comprising 14 barangays, and serves as the governing unit directly responsible for local services in Barangay Pogoruac, including public health, sanitation, peace and order, and civil registration. Within the wider province of Pangasinan, which contains 1,364 barangays across its component cities and municipalities, Barangay Pogoruac ranks 441st by 2020 population. The next Barangay and Sangguniang Kabataan Elections (BSKE) are scheduled for Monday, November 2, 2026, with officials serving four-year terms under Republic Act No. 12232.
