Barangay Bagong Borbon

Barangay Bagong Borbon forms part of Buug, a municipality in Zamboanga Sibugay, and is classified as a very small barangay.

According to the 2020 Census of Population and Housing conducted by the Philippine Statistics Authority, Barangay Bagong Borbon had a population of 382. This made it the 24th largest of 27 barangays in Buug by population, placing it among the smaller barangays of the municipality. Residents of Barangay Bagong Borbon accounted for approximately 0.99% of the total population of Buug, which stood at 38,425 in the same census year.

The barangay recorded 322 residents in the 2015 intercensal count and 382 residents in the 2020 Census — a net change of +18.6%, consistent with a growing settlement. The Philippine Statistics Authority classifies Barangay Bagong Borbon as rural, a designation applied to barangays with lower population density and predominantly non-built-up land use.

Buug is a municipality comprising 27 barangays, and serves as the governing unit directly responsible for local services in Barangay Bagong Borbon, including public health, sanitation, peace and order, and civil registration. Within the wider province of Zamboanga Sibugay, which contains 389 barangays across its component cities and municipalities, Barangay Bagong Borbon ranks 380th by 2020 population.
