Barangay Guintuloan

Situated in Buug, Zamboanga Sibugay, Barangay Guintuloan is one of 27 barangays that make up the municipality within Zamboanga Peninsula.

According to the 2020 Census of Population and Housing conducted by the Philippine Statistics Authority, Barangay Guintuloan had a population of 362. This made it the 26th largest of 27 barangays in Buug by population, placing it among the smaller barangays of the municipality. Residents of Barangay Guintuloan accounted for approximately 0.94% of the total population of Buug, which stood at 38,425 in the same census year.

The barangay recorded 363 residents in the 2015 intercensal count and 362 residents in the 2020 Census — a net change of -0.3%, consistent with a broadly stable settlement. The Philippine Statistics Authority classifies Barangay Guintuloan as rural, a designation applied to barangays with lower population density and predominantly non-built-up land use.

Buug is a municipality comprising 27 barangays, and serves as the governing unit directly responsible for local services in Barangay Guintuloan, including public health, sanitation, peace and order, and civil registration. Within the wider province of Zamboanga Sibugay, which contains 389 barangays across its component cities and municipalities, Barangay Guintuloan ranks 384th by 2020 population.
