Barangay Santo Domingo forms part of Calabanga, a municipality in Camarines Sur, and is classified as a mid-sized barangay.

This made it the 7th largest of 48 barangays in Calabanga by population, placing it in the upper half of the municipality. The barangay recorded 3,318 residents in the 2015 intercensal count and 3,675 residents in the 2020 Census — a net change of +10.8%, consistent with a growing settlement. Barangay Santo Domingo is officially classified as rural, a designation applied to barangays with lower population density and predominantly non-built-up land use.

The next BSKE is scheduled for Monday, November 2, 2026, following the synchronized election schedule set by COMELEC Resolution No. 11191.
