Barangay Singalat

Situated in Calamba, Misamis Occidental, Barangay Singalat is one of 19 barangays that make up the municipality within Northern Mindanao.

According to the 2020 Census of Population and Housing conducted by the Philippine Statistics Authority, Barangay Singalat had a population of 226. This made it the 19th largest of 19 barangays in Calamba by population, placing it among the smaller barangays of the municipality. Residents of Barangay Singalat accounted for approximately 0.97% of the total population of Calamba, which stood at 23,227 in the same census year.

The barangay recorded 240 residents in the 2015 intercensal count and 226 residents in the 2020 Census — a net change of -5.8%, consistent with a contracting settlement. The Philippine Statistics Authority classifies Barangay Singalat as rural, a designation applied to barangays with lower population density and predominantly non-built-up land use.

Calamba is a municipality comprising 19 barangays, and serves as the governing unit directly responsible for local services in Barangay Singalat, including public health, sanitation, peace and order, and civil registration. Within the wider province of Misamis Occidental, which contains 490 barangays across its component cities and municipalities, Barangay Singalat ranks 481st by 2020 population.
