Barangay Cambayobo

Barangay Cambayobo is a small barangay in the municipality of Calatrava, located in the province of Negros Occidental, in the Western Visayas region of the Philippines.

According to the 2020 Census of Population and Housing conducted by the Philippine Statistics Authority, Barangay Cambayobo had a population of 1,365. This made it the 26th largest of 40 barangays in Calatrava by population, placing it in the middle tier of the municipality. Residents of Barangay Cambayobo accounted for approximately 1.65% of the total population of Calatrava, which stood at 82,540 in the same census year.

Census comparisons between 2015 and 2020 show Barangay Cambayobo moving from 1,413 residents to 1,365 residents, an intercensal change of -3.4%. The trajectory indicates a contracting community. The Philippine Statistics Authority classifies Barangay Cambayobo as rural, a designation applied to barangays with lower population density and predominantly non-built-up land use.

Calatrava is a municipality comprising 40 barangays, and serves as the governing unit directly responsible for local services in Barangay Cambayobo, including public health, sanitation, peace and order, and civil registration. Within the wider province of Negros Occidental, which contains 662 barangays across its component cities and municipalities, Barangay Cambayobo ranks 509th by 2020 population.
