Barangay 6 Poblacion

Situated in Can-Avid, Eastern Samar, Barangay 6 Poblacion is one of 28 barangays that make up the municipality within Eastern Visayas.

According to the 2020 Census of Population and Housing conducted by the Philippine Statistics Authority, Barangay 6 Poblacion had a population of 161. This made it the 28th largest of 28 barangays in Can-Avid by population, placing it among the smaller barangays of the municipality. Residents of Barangay 6 Poblacion accounted for approximately 0.74% of the total population of Can-Avid, which stood at 21,682 in the same census year.

The barangay recorded 188 residents in the 2015 intercensal count and 161 residents in the 2020 Census — a net change of -14.4%, consistent with a contracting settlement. The Philippine Statistics Authority classifies Barangay 6 Poblacion as rural, a designation applied to barangays with lower population density and predominantly non-built-up land use.
