Barangay Canawa

Situated in Candijay, Bohol, Barangay Canawa is one of 21 barangays that make up the municipality within Central Visayas.

According to the 2020 Philippine census, Barangay Canawa had a population of 1,226. This made it the 13th largest of 21 barangays in Candijay by population, placing it in the middle tier of the municipality. Residents of Barangay Canawa accounted for approximately 4.07% of the total population of Candijay, which stood at 30,119 in the same census year.

Census comparisons between 2015 and 2020 show Barangay Canawa moving from 1,370 residents to 1,226 residents, an intercensal change of -10.5%. The trajectory indicates a contracting community. Barangay Canawa is officially classified as rural, a designation applied to barangays with lower population density and predominantly non-built-up land use.
