Barangay East Visoria

Situated in Carigara, Leyte, Barangay East Visoria is one of 49 barangays that make up the municipality within Eastern Visayas.

According to the 2020 Philippine census, Barangay East Visoria had a population of 1,130. This made it the 17th largest of 49 barangays in Carigara by population, placing it in the middle tier of the municipality. Residents of Barangay East Visoria accounted for approximately 2.07% of the total population of Carigara, which stood at 54,656 in the same census year.

The barangay recorded 1,117 residents in the 2015 intercensal count and 1,130 residents in the 2020 Census — a net change of +1.2%, consistent with a slowly expanding settlement. Barangay East Visoria is officially classified as rural, a designation applied to barangays with lower population density and predominantly non-built-up land use.

Carigara is a municipality comprising 49 barangays, and serves as the governing unit directly responsible for local services in Barangay East Visoria, including public health, sanitation, peace and order, and civil registration. Within the wider province of Leyte, which contains 1,641 barangays across its component cities and municipalities, Barangay East Visoria ranks 535th by 2020 population.
