Barangay Alipata

Barangay Alipata is a small barangay in the municipality of Carles, located in the province of Iloilo, in the Western Visayas region of the Philippines.

According to the 2020 Census of Population and Housing conducted by the Philippine Statistics Authority, Barangay Alipata had a population of 1,337. This made it the 28th largest of 33 barangays in Carles by population, placing it among the smaller barangays of the municipality. Residents of Barangay Alipata accounted for approximately 1.84% of the total population of Carles, which stood at 72,637 in the same census year.

Census comparisons between 2015 and 2020 show Barangay Alipata moving from 1,256 residents to 1,337 residents, an intercensal change of +6.4%. The trajectory indicates a growing community. The Philippine Statistics Authority classifies Barangay Alipata as rural, a designation applied to barangays with lower population density and predominantly non-built-up land use.

Carles is a municipality comprising 33 barangays, and serves as the governing unit directly responsible for local services in Barangay Alipata, including public health, sanitation, peace and order, and civil registration.
