Barangay Binuluangan

Situated in Carles, Iloilo, Barangay Binuluangan is one of 33 barangays that make up the municipality within Western Visayas.

According to the 2020 Philippine census, Barangay Binuluangan had a population of 1,522. This made it the 23rd largest of 33 barangays in Carles by population, placing it in the middle tier of the municipality. Residents of Barangay Binuluangan accounted for approximately 2.10% of the total population of Carles, which stood at 72,637 in the same census year.

Between the 2015 and 2020 censuses, the population of Barangay Binuluangan changed from 1,515 to 1,522, a shift of +0.5% over the five-year period. This places the barangay among those with slowly expanding populations in Carles. Barangay Binuluangan is officially classified as rural, a designation applied to barangays with lower population density and predominantly non-built-up land use.

Carles is a municipality comprising 33 barangays, and serves as the governing unit directly responsible for local services in Barangay Binuluangan, including public health, sanitation, peace and order, and civil registration.
