Barangay Sura

Classified as a small barangay, Barangay Sura is one of the administrative divisions of Cauayan in Negros Occidental, Western Visayas, Philippines.

According to the 2020 Philippine census, Barangay Sura had a population of 609. This made it the 25th largest of 25 barangays in Cauayan by population, placing it among the smaller barangays of the municipality. Residents of Barangay Sura accounted for approximately 0.56% of the total population of Cauayan, which stood at 108,480 in the same census year.

Census comparisons between 2015 and 2020 show Barangay Sura moving from 605 residents to 609 residents, an intercensal change of +0.7%. The trajectory indicates a slowly expanding community. Barangay Sura is officially classified as rural, a designation applied to barangays with lower population density and predominantly non-built-up land use.
