Barangay Niugan

Situated in City of Cabuyao, Laguna, Barangay Niugan is one of 18 barangays that make up the city within CALABARZON.

According to the 2020 Philippine census, Barangay Niugan had a population of 38,576. This made it the 3rd largest of 18 barangays in City of Cabuyao by population, placing it in the upper half of the city. Residents of Barangay Niugan accounted for approximately 10.86% of the total population of City of Cabuyao, which stood at 355,330 in the same census year.

Between the 2015 and 2020 censuses, the population of Barangay Niugan changed from 31,461 to 38,576, a shift of +22.6% over the five-year period. This places the barangay among those with growing populations in City of Cabuyao. Barangay Niugan is officially classified as urban, reflecting the density and built-up character of the area.

City of Cabuyao is a city comprising 18 barangays, and serves as the governing unit directly responsible for local services in Barangay Niugan, including public health, sanitation, peace and order, and civil registration. Within the wider province of Laguna, which contains 681 barangays across its component cities and municipalities, Barangay Niugan ranks 11th by 2020 population.
