Barangay Carayman

Classified as a large barangay, Barangay Carayman is one of the administrative divisions of City of Calbayog in Samar, Eastern Visayas, Philippines.

According to the 2020 Census of Population and Housing conducted by the Philippine Statistics Authority, Barangay Carayman had a population of 5,071. This made it the 6th largest of 157 barangays in City of Calbayog by population, placing it among the most populous barangays of the city. Residents of Barangay Carayman accounted for approximately 2.71% of the total population of City of Calbayog, which stood at 186,960 in the same census year.

Census comparisons between 2015 and 2020 show Barangay Carayman moving from 4,689 residents to 5,071 residents, an intercensal change of +8.1%. The trajectory indicates a growing community. The Philippine Statistics Authority classifies Barangay Carayman as urban, reflecting the density and built-up character of the area.

City of Calbayog is a city comprising 157 barangays, and serves as the governing unit directly responsible for local services in Barangay Carayman, including public health, sanitation, peace and order, and civil registration.
