Barangay Maysalong

Barangay Maysalong forms part of City of Calbayog, a city in Samar, and is classified as a very small barangay.

According to the 2020 Census of Population and Housing conducted by the Philippine Statistics Authority, Barangay Maysalong had a population of 191. This made it the 147th largest of 157 barangays in City of Calbayog by population, placing it among the smaller barangays of the city. Residents of Barangay Maysalong accounted for approximately 0.10% of the total population of City of Calbayog, which stood at 186,960 in the same census year.

Between the 2015 and 2020 censuses, the population of Barangay Maysalong changed from 221 to 191, a shift of -13.6% over the five-year period. The Philippine Statistics Authority classifies Barangay Maysalong as rural, a designation applied to barangays with lower population density and predominantly non-built-up land use.

City of Calbayog is a city comprising 157 barangays, and serves as the governing unit directly responsible for local services in Barangay Maysalong, including public health, sanitation, peace and order, and civil registration. Within the wider province of Samar, which contains 951 barangays across its component cities and municipalities, Barangay Maysalong ranks 871st by 2020 population.
