Barangay Selinog

Situated in City of Dapitan, Zamboanga Del Norte, Barangay Selinog is one of 50 barangays that make up the city within Zamboanga Peninsula.

According to the 2020 Philippine census, Barangay Selinog had a population of 692. This made it the 48th largest of 50 barangays in City of Dapitan by population, placing it among the smaller barangays of the city. Residents of Barangay Selinog accounted for approximately 0.81% of the total population of City of Dapitan, which stood at 85,202 in the same census year.

Between the 2015 and 2020 censuses, the population of Barangay Selinog changed from 697 to 692, a shift of -0.7% over the five-year period. This places the barangay among those with broadly stable populations in City of Dapitan. Barangay Selinog is officially classified as rural, a designation applied to barangays with lower population density and predominantly non-built-up land use.

City of Dapitan is a city comprising 50 barangays, and serves as the governing unit directly responsible for local services in Barangay Selinog, including public health, sanitation, peace and order, and civil registration. Within the wider province of Zamboanga Del Norte, which contains 691 barangays across its component cities and municipalities, Barangay Selinog ranks 529th by 2020 population. The next Barangay and Sangguniang Kabataan Elections (BSKE) are scheduled for Monday, November 2, 2026, with officials serving four-year terms under Republic Act No. 12232.
