Barangay Malasibog

Situated in City of Escalante, Negros Occidental, Barangay Malasibog is one of 21 barangays that make up the city within Western Visayas.

According to the 2020 Philippine census, Barangay Malasibog had a population of 3,094. This made it the 11th largest of 21 barangays in City of Escalante by population, placing it in the middle tier of the city. Residents of Barangay Malasibog accounted for approximately 3.22% of the total population of City of Escalante, which stood at 96,159 in the same census year.

Between the 2015 and 2020 censuses, the population of Barangay Malasibog changed from 2,850 to 3,094, a shift of +8.6% over the five-year period. This places the barangay among those with growing populations in City of Escalante. Barangay Malasibog is officially classified as rural, a designation applied to barangays with lower population density and predominantly non-built-up land use.

City of Escalante is a city comprising 21 barangays, and serves as the governing unit directly responsible for local services in Barangay Malasibog, including public health, sanitation, peace and order, and civil registration. Within the wider province of Negros Occidental, which contains 662 barangays across its component cities and municipalities, Barangay Malasibog ranks 326th by 2020 population. The next Barangay and Sangguniang Kabataan Elections (BSKE) are scheduled for Monday, November 2, 2026, with officials serving four-year terms under Republic Act No. 12232.
