Barangay Luz

Situated in City of Guihulngan, Negros Oriental, Barangay Luz is one of 33 barangays that make up the city within Central Visayas.

According to the 2020 Census of Population and Housing conducted by the Philippine Statistics Authority, Barangay Luz had a population of 1,713. This made it the 25th largest of 33 barangays in City of Guihulngan by population, placing it among the smaller barangays of the city. Residents of Barangay Luz accounted for approximately 1.67% of the total population of City of Guihulngan, which stood at 102,656 in the same census year.

Between the 2015 and 2020 censuses, the population of Barangay Luz changed from 1,643 to 1,713, a shift of +4.3% over the five-year period. This places the barangay among those with growing populations in City of Guihulngan. The Philippine Statistics Authority classifies Barangay Luz as rural, a designation applied to barangays with lower population density and predominantly non-built-up land use.

City of Guihulngan is a city comprising 33 barangays, and serves as the governing unit directly responsible for local services in Barangay Luz, including public health, sanitation, peace and order, and civil registration.
