Barangay Planas

Barangay Planas is a small barangay in the City of Guihulngan, located in the province of Negros Oriental, in the Central Visayas region of the Philippines.

According to the 2020 Philippine census, Barangay Planas had a population of 1,887. This made it the 21st largest of 33 barangays in City of Guihulngan by population, placing it in the middle tier of the city. Residents of Barangay Planas accounted for approximately 1.84% of the total population of City of Guihulngan, which stood at 102,656 in the same census year.

Census comparisons between 2015 and 2020 show Barangay Planas moving from 1,602 residents to 1,887 residents, an intercensal change of +17.8%. The trajectory indicates a growing community. Barangay Planas is officially classified as rural, a designation applied to barangays with lower population density and predominantly non-built-up land use.
