Barangay Abella

Situated in City of Ligao, Albay, Barangay Abella is one of 55 barangays that make up the city within Bicol Region.

According to the 2020 Philippine census, Barangay Abella had a population of 1,136. This made it the 45th largest of 55 barangays in City of Ligao by population, placing it among the smaller barangays of the city. Residents of Barangay Abella accounted for approximately 0.96% of the total population of City of Ligao, which stood at 118,096 in the same census year.

The barangay recorded 1,047 residents in the 2015 intercensal count and 1,136 residents in the 2020 Census — a net change of +8.5%, consistent with a growing settlement. Barangay Abella is officially classified as rural, a designation applied to barangays with lower population density and predominantly non-built-up land use.

City of Ligao is a city comprising 55 barangays, and serves as the governing unit directly responsible for local services in Barangay Abella, including public health, sanitation, peace and order, and civil registration.
