Barangay Bogo

Situated in City of Maasin, Southern Leyte, Barangay Bogo is one of 70 barangays that make up the city within Eastern Visayas.

According to the 2020 Philippine census, Barangay Bogo had a population of 808. This made it the 39th largest of 70 barangays in City of Maasin by population, placing it in the middle tier of the city. Residents of Barangay Bogo accounted for approximately 0.92% of the total population of City of Maasin, which stood at 87,446 in the same census year.

The barangay recorded 654 residents in the 2015 intercensal count and 808 residents in the 2020 Census — a net change of +23.5%, consistent with a growing settlement. Barangay Bogo is officially classified as rural, a designation applied to barangays with lower population density and predominantly non-built-up land use.

City of Maasin is a city comprising 70 barangays, and serves as the governing unit directly responsible for local services in Barangay Bogo, including public health, sanitation, peace and order, and civil registration. Within the wider province of Southern Leyte, which contains 500 barangays across its component cities and municipalities, Barangay Bogo ranks 201st by 2020 population.
