Barangay Laboon

Barangay Laboon is a small barangay in the City of Maasin, located in the province of Southern Leyte, in the Eastern Visayas region of the Philippines.

According to the 2020 Philippine census, Barangay Laboon had a population of 1,604. This made it the 16th largest of 70 barangays in City of Maasin by population, placing it in the upper half of the city. Residents of Barangay Laboon accounted for approximately 1.83% of the total population of City of Maasin, which stood at 87,446 in the same census year.

Census comparisons between 2015 and 2020 show Barangay Laboon moving from 1,421 residents to 1,604 residents, an intercensal change of +12.9%. The trajectory indicates a growing community. Barangay Laboon is officially classified as rural, a designation applied to barangays with lower population density and predominantly non-built-up land use.

City of Maasin is a city comprising 70 barangays, and serves as the governing unit directly responsible for local services in Barangay Laboon, including public health, sanitation, peace and order, and civil registration.
