Barangay Lonoy

Classified as a small barangay, Barangay Lonoy is one of the administrative divisions of City of Maasin in Southern Leyte, Eastern Visayas, Philippines.

According to the 2020 Philippine census, Barangay Lonoy had a population of 764. This made it the 44th largest of 70 barangays in City of Maasin by population, placing it in the middle tier of the city. Residents of Barangay Lonoy accounted for approximately 0.87% of the total population of City of Maasin, which stood at 87,446 in the same census year.

Census comparisons between 2015 and 2020 show Barangay Lonoy moving from 679 residents to 764 residents, an intercensal change of +12.5%. The trajectory indicates a growing community. Barangay Lonoy is officially classified as rural, a designation applied to barangays with lower population density and predominantly non-built-up land use.

City of Maasin is a city comprising 70 barangays, and serves as the governing unit directly responsible for local services in Barangay Lonoy, including public health, sanitation, peace and order, and civil registration.
