Barangay Mahayahay

Situated in City of Maasin, Southern Leyte, Barangay Mahayahay is one of 70 barangays that make up the city within Eastern Visayas.

Census comparisons between 2015 and 2020 show Barangay Mahayahay moving from 1,115 residents to 1,223 residents, an intercensal change of +9.7%. The trajectory indicates a growing community. Barangay Mahayahay is officially classified as rural, a designation applied to barangays with lower population density and predominantly non-built-up land use.

City of Maasin is a city comprising 70 barangays, and serves as the governing unit directly responsible for local services in Barangay Mahayahay, including public health, sanitation, peace and order, and civil registration.
