Barangay Mambajao (Pob.)

Barangay Mambajao (Pob.) is a small barangay in the City of Maasin, located in the province of Southern Leyte, in the Eastern Visayas region of the Philippines.

According to the 2020 Philippine census, Barangay Mambajao (Pob.) had a population of 1,948. This made it the 10th largest of 70 barangays in City of Maasin by population, placing it in the upper half of the city. Residents of Barangay Mambajao (Pob.) accounted for approximately 2.23% of the total population of City of Maasin, which stood at 87,446 in the same census year.

The barangay recorded 1,926 residents in the 2015 intercensal count and 1,948 residents in the 2020 Census — a net change of +1.1%, consistent with a slowly expanding settlement. Barangay Mambajao (Pob.) is officially classified as urban, reflecting the density and built-up character of the area.

City of Maasin is a city comprising 70 barangays, and serves as the governing unit directly responsible for local services in Barangay Mambajao (Pob.), including public health, sanitation, peace and order, and civil registration. Within the wider province of Southern Leyte, which contains 500 barangays across its component cities and municipalities, Barangay Mambajao (Pob.) ranks 29th by 2020 population. Southern Leyte is classified as a 3rd by the Bureau of Local Government Finance, a category that reflects the province's annual regular income.
