Barangay Tagnipa (Pob.)

Classified as a mid-sized barangay, Barangay Tagnipa (Pob.) is one of the administrative divisions of City of Maasin in Southern Leyte, Eastern Visayas, Philippines.

According to the 2020 Census of Population and Housing conducted by the Philippine Statistics Authority, Barangay Tagnipa (Pob.) had a population of 3,266. This made it the 5th largest of 70 barangays in City of Maasin by population, placing it among the most populous barangays of the city. Residents of Barangay Tagnipa (Pob.) accounted for approximately 3.73% of the total population of City of Maasin, which stood at 87,446 in the same census year.

Between the 2015 and 2020 censuses, the population of Barangay Tagnipa (Pob.) changed from 3,248 to 3,266, a shift of +0.6% over the five-year period. This places the barangay among those with slowly expanding populations in City of Maasin. The Philippine Statistics Authority classifies Barangay Tagnipa (Pob.) as urban, reflecting the density and built-up character of the area.

City of Maasin is a city comprising 70 barangays, and serves as the governing unit directly responsible for local services in Barangay Tagnipa (Pob.), including public health, sanitation, peace and order, and civil registration.
