Barangay Mulapula

Classified as a small barangay, Barangay Mulapula is one of the administrative divisions of City of Passi in Iloilo, Western Visayas, Philippines.

According to the 2020 Philippine census, Barangay Mulapula had a population of 1,437. This made it the 24th largest of 51 barangays in City of Passi by population, placing it in the middle tier of the city. Residents of Barangay Mulapula accounted for approximately 1.62% of the total population of City of Passi, which stood at 88,873 in the same census year.

Between the 2015 and 2020 censuses, the population of Barangay Mulapula changed from 1,568 to 1,437, a shift of -8.4% over the five-year period. This places the barangay among those with contracting populations in City of Passi. Barangay Mulapula is officially classified as rural, a designation applied to barangays with lower population density and predominantly non-built-up land use.

City of Passi is a city comprising 51 barangays, and serves as the governing unit directly responsible for local services in Barangay Mulapula, including public health, sanitation, peace and order, and civil registration. Within the wider province of Iloilo, which contains 1,901 barangays across its component cities and municipalities, Barangay Mulapula ranks 478th by 2020 population. Barangay Mulapula is governed by an elected Sangguniang Barangay composed of a Punong Barangay and seven kagawads, with the Sangguniang Kabataan representing the youth. The next BSKE, set for Monday, November 2, 2026, will elect officials to four-year terms as provided under Republic Act No. 12232.
