Barangay Pagaypay

Barangay Pagaypay is a small barangay in the City of Passi, located in the province of Iloilo, in the Western Visayas region of the Philippines.

According to the 2020 Philippine census, Barangay Pagaypay had a population of 631. This made it the 45th largest of 51 barangays in City of Passi by population, placing it among the smaller barangays of the city. Residents of Barangay Pagaypay accounted for approximately 0.71% of the total population of City of Passi, which stood at 88,873 in the same census year.

Between the 2015 and 2020 censuses, the population of Barangay Pagaypay changed from 608 to 631, a shift of +3.8% over the five-year period. This places the barangay among those with growing populations in City of Passi. Barangay Pagaypay is officially classified as rural, a designation applied to barangays with lower population density and predominantly non-built-up land use.

City of Passi is a city comprising 51 barangays, and serves as the governing unit directly responsible for local services in Barangay Pagaypay, including public health, sanitation, peace and order, and civil registration. Within the wider province of Iloilo, which contains 1,901 barangays across its component cities and municipalities, Barangay Pagaypay ranks 1141st by 2020 population. Barangay Pagaypay is governed by an elected Sangguniang Barangay composed of a Punong Barangay and seven kagawads, with the Sangguniang Kabataan representing the youth. The next BSKE, set for Monday, November 2, 2026, will elect officials to four-year terms as provided under Republic Act No. 12232.
