Barangay Santo Tomas

Classified as a mid-sized barangay, Barangay Santo Tomas is one of the administrative divisions of City of Passi in Iloilo, Western Visayas, Philippines.

According to the 2020 Philippine census, Barangay Santo Tomas had a population of 2,748. This made it the 9th largest of 51 barangays in City of Passi by population, placing it in the upper half of the city. Residents of Barangay Santo Tomas accounted for approximately 3.09% of the total population of City of Passi, which stood at 88,873 in the same census year.

The barangay recorded 2,181 residents in the 2015 intercensal count and 2,748 residents in the 2020 Census — a net change of +26.0%, consistent with a growing settlement. Barangay Santo Tomas is officially classified as rural, a designation applied to barangays with lower population density and predominantly non-built-up land use.

City of Passi is a city comprising 51 barangays, and serves as the governing unit directly responsible for local services in Barangay Santo Tomas, including public health, sanitation, peace and order, and civil registration. Within the wider province of Iloilo, which contains 1,901 barangays across its component cities and municipalities, Barangay Santo Tomas ranks 123rd by 2020 population. The next Barangay and Sangguniang Kabataan Elections (BSKE) are scheduled for Monday, November 2, 2026, with officials serving four-year terms under Republic Act No. 12232.
