Barangay General Luna

Classified as a mid-sized barangay, Barangay General Luna is one of the administrative divisions of City of Sagay in Negros Occidental, Western Visayas, Philippines.

According to the 2020 Philippine census, Barangay General Luna had a population of 3,500. This made it the 18th largest of 25 barangays in City of Sagay by population, placing it in the middle tier of the city. Residents of Barangay General Luna accounted for approximately 2.35% of the total population of City of Sagay, which stood at 148,894 in the same census year.

The barangay recorded 3,747 residents in the 2015 intercensal count and 3,500 residents in the 2020 Census — a net change of -6.6%, consistent with a contracting settlement. Barangay General Luna is officially classified as rural, a designation applied to barangays with lower population density and predominantly non-built-up land use.

City of Sagay is a city comprising 25 barangays, and serves as the governing unit directly responsible for local services in Barangay General Luna, including public health, sanitation, peace and order, and civil registration. Within the wider province of Negros Occidental, which contains 662 barangays across its component cities and municipalities, Barangay General Luna ranks 285th by 2020 population.
