Barangay Prosperidad

Barangay Prosperidad is a large barangay in the City of San Carlos, located in the province of Negros Occidental, in the Western Visayas region of the Philippines.

According to the 2020 Philippine census, Barangay Prosperidad had a population of 5,769. This made it the 12th largest of 18 barangays in City of San Carlos by population, placing it in the middle tier of the city. Residents of Barangay Prosperidad accounted for approximately 4.35% of the total population of City of San Carlos, which stood at 132,650 in the same census year.

Census comparisons between 2015 and 2020 show Barangay Prosperidad moving from 5,141 residents to 5,769 residents, an intercensal change of +12.2%. The trajectory indicates a growing community. Barangay Prosperidad is officially classified as urban, reflecting the density and built-up character of the area.

City of San Carlos is a city comprising 18 barangays, and serves as the governing unit directly responsible for local services in Barangay Prosperidad, including public health, sanitation, peace and order, and civil registration.
