Barangay Punao

Classified as a large barangay, Barangay Punao is one of the administrative divisions of City of San Carlos in Negros Occidental, Western Visayas, Philippines.

According to the 2020 Philippine census, Barangay Punao had a population of 6,084. This made it the 10th largest of 18 barangays in City of San Carlos by population, placing it in the middle tier of the city. Residents of Barangay Punao accounted for approximately 4.59% of the total population of City of San Carlos, which stood at 132,650 in the same census year.

Census comparisons between 2015 and 2020 show Barangay Punao moving from 6,328 residents to 6,084 residents, an intercensal change of -3.9%. The trajectory indicates a contracting community. Barangay Punao is officially classified as urban, reflecting the density and built-up character of the area.
