Barangay Rizal

Situated in City of San Carlos, Negros Occidental, Barangay Rizal is one of 18 barangays that make up the city within Western Visayas.

According to the 2020 Philippine census, Barangay Rizal had a population of 16,775. This made it the 1st largest of 18 barangays in City of San Carlos by population, placing it among the most populous barangays of the city. Residents of Barangay Rizal accounted for approximately 12.65% of the total population of City of San Carlos, which stood at 132,650 in the same census year.

Census comparisons between 2015 and 2020 show Barangay Rizal moving from 15,837 residents to 16,775 residents, an intercensal change of +5.9%. The trajectory indicates a growing community. Barangay Rizal is officially classified as urban, reflecting the density and built-up character of the area.

City of San Carlos is a city comprising 18 barangays, and serves as the governing unit directly responsible for local services in Barangay Rizal, including public health, sanitation, peace and order, and civil registration. The next Barangay and Sangguniang Kabataan Elections (BSKE) are scheduled for Monday, November 2, 2026, with officials serving four-year terms under Republic Act No. 12232.
