Barangay Bagtic

Situated in City of Silay, Negros Occidental, Barangay Bagtic is one of 16 barangays that make up the city within Western Visayas.

According to the 2020 Philippine census, Barangay Bagtic had a population of 6,708. This made it the 9th largest of 16 barangays in City of Silay by population, placing it in the middle tier of the city. Residents of Barangay Bagtic accounted for approximately 5.14% of the total population of City of Silay, which stood at 130,478 in the same census year.

The barangay recorded 7,017 residents in the 2015 intercensal count and 6,708 residents in the 2020 Census — a net change of -4.4%, consistent with a contracting settlement. Barangay Bagtic is officially classified as urban, reflecting the density and built-up character of the area.

City of Silay is a city comprising 16 barangays, and serves as the governing unit directly responsible for local services in Barangay Bagtic, including public health, sanitation, peace and order, and civil registration. The next Barangay and Sangguniang Kabataan Elections (BSKE) are scheduled for Monday, November 2, 2026, with officials serving four-year terms under Republic Act No. 12232.
