Barangay Guimbala-on

Barangay Guimbala-on is a large barangay in the City of Silay, located in the province of Negros Occidental, in the Western Visayas region of the Philippines.

According to the 2020 Philippine census, Barangay Guimbala-on had a population of 11,064. This made it the 4th largest of 16 barangays in City of Silay by population, placing it in the upper half of the city. Residents of Barangay Guimbala-on accounted for approximately 8.48% of the total population of City of Silay, which stood at 130,478 in the same census year.

Between the 2015 and 2020 censuses, the population of Barangay Guimbala-on changed from 10,391 to 11,064, a shift of +6.5% over the five-year period. This places the barangay among those with growing populations in City of Silay. Barangay Guimbala-on is officially classified as urban, reflecting the density and built-up character of the area.

City of Silay is a city comprising 16 barangays, and serves as the governing unit directly responsible for local services in Barangay Guimbala-on, including public health, sanitation, peace and order, and civil registration. Within the wider province of Negros Occidental, which contains 662 barangays across its component cities and municipalities, Barangay Guimbala-on ranks 33rd by 2020 population. The next Barangay and Sangguniang Kabataan Elections (BSKE) are scheduled for Monday, November 2, 2026, with officials serving four-year terms under Republic Act No. 12232.
