Barangay New Balamban

Barangay New Balamban is a small barangay in the City of Tagum, located in the province of Davao Del Norte, in the Davao Region region of the Philippines.

According to the 2020 Philippine census, Barangay New Balamban had a population of 1,596. This made it the 22nd largest of 23 barangays in City of Tagum by population, placing it among the smaller barangays of the city. Residents of Barangay New Balamban accounted for approximately 0.54% of the total population of City of Tagum, which stood at 296,202 in the same census year.

Between the 2015 and 2020 censuses, the population of Barangay New Balamban changed from 1,464 to 1,596, a shift of +9.0% over the five-year period. This places the barangay among those with growing populations in City of Tagum. Barangay New Balamban is officially classified as rural, a designation applied to barangays with lower population density and predominantly non-built-up land use.

City of Tagum is a city comprising 23 barangays, and serves as the governing unit directly responsible for local services in Barangay New Balamban, including public health, sanitation, peace and order, and civil registration. Within the wider province of Davao Del Norte, which contains 223 barangays across its component cities and municipalities, Barangay New Balamban ranks 183rd by 2020 population.
