Barangay San Agustin

Barangay San Agustin forms part of City of Tagum, a city in Davao Del Norte, and is classified as a small barangay.

According to the 2020 Philippine census, Barangay San Agustin had a population of 1,567. This made it the 23rd largest of 23 barangays in City of Tagum by population, placing it among the smaller barangays of the city. Residents of Barangay San Agustin accounted for approximately 0.53% of the total population of City of Tagum, which stood at 296,202 in the same census year.

The barangay recorded 1,115 residents in the 2015 intercensal count and 1,567 residents in the 2020 Census — a net change of +40.5%, consistent with a growing settlement. Barangay San Agustin is officially classified as rural, a designation applied to barangays with lower population density and predominantly non-built-up land use.

City of Tagum is a city comprising 23 barangays, and serves as the governing unit directly responsible for local services in Barangay San Agustin, including public health, sanitation, peace and order, and civil registration. Within the wider province of Davao Del Norte, which contains 223 barangays across its component cities and municipalities, Barangay San Agustin ranks 188th by 2020 population. The next Barangay and Sangguniang Kabataan Elections (BSKE) are scheduled for Monday, November 2, 2026, with officials serving four-year terms under Republic Act No. 12232.
