Barangay Tangke

Barangay Tangke is a large barangay in the City of Talisay, located in the province of Cebu, in the Central Visayas region of the Philippines.

According to the 2020 Philippine census, Barangay Tangke had a population of 14,058. This made it the 9th largest of 22 barangays in City of Talisay by population, placing it in the middle tier of the city. Residents of Barangay Tangke accounted for approximately 5.34% of the total population of City of Talisay, which stood at 263,048 in the same census year.

Between the 2015 and 2020 censuses, the population of Barangay Tangke changed from 13,707 to 14,058, a shift of +2.6% over the five-year period. This places the barangay among those with growing populations in City of Talisay. Barangay Tangke is officially classified as urban, reflecting the density and built-up character of the area.

City of Talisay is a city comprising 22 barangays, and serves as the governing unit directly responsible for local services in Barangay Tangke, including public health, sanitation, peace and order, and civil registration. Within the wider province of Cebu, which contains 1,203 barangays across its component cities and municipalities, Barangay Tangke ranks 27th by 2020 population. Cebu is classified as a 1st by the Bureau of Local Government Finance, a category that reflects the province's annual regular income.

Like every Philippine barangay, Barangay Tangke is led by an elected Punong Barangay (barangay captain) supported by seven Sangguniang Barangay members (kagawads), an SK Chairperson, a Barangay Secretary, and a Barangay Treasurer. The next Barangay and Sangguniang Kabataan Elections (BSKE) are scheduled for Monday, November 2, 2026, with officials serving four-year terms under Republic Act No. 12232.
