Barangay Poblacion Sur

Situated in Clarin, Bohol, Barangay Poblacion Sur is one of 24 barangays that make up the municipality within Central Visayas.

According to the 2020 Census of Population and Housing conducted by the Philippine Statistics Authority, Barangay Poblacion Sur had a population of 1,381. This made it the 4th largest of 24 barangays in Clarin by population, placing it in the upper half of the municipality. Residents of Barangay Poblacion Sur accounted for approximately 6.53% of the total population of Clarin, which stood at 21,158 in the same census year.

Between the 2015 and 2020 censuses, the population of Barangay Poblacion Sur changed from 1,246 to 1,381, a shift of +10.8% over the five-year period. This places the barangay among those with growing populations in Clarin. The Philippine Statistics Authority classifies Barangay Poblacion Sur as rural, a designation applied to barangays with lower population density and predominantly non-built-up land use.

Clarin is a municipality comprising 24 barangays, and serves as the governing unit directly responsible for local services in Barangay Poblacion Sur, including public health, sanitation, peace and order, and civil registration.
