Barangay Malilitao

Classified as a small barangay, Barangay Malilitao is one of the administrative divisions of Claveria in Cagayan, Cagayan Valley, Philippines.

According to the 2020 Philippine census, Barangay Malilitao had a population of 723. This made it the 18th largest of 41 barangays in Claveria by population, placing it in the middle tier of the municipality. Residents of Barangay Malilitao accounted for approximately 2.27% of the total population of Claveria, which stood at 31,900 in the same census year.

Between the 2015 and 2020 censuses, the population of Barangay Malilitao changed from 696 to 723, a shift of +3.9% over the five-year period. This places the barangay among those with growing populations in Claveria. Barangay Malilitao is officially classified as rural, a designation applied to barangays with lower population density and predominantly non-built-up land use.

Claveria is a municipality comprising 41 barangays, and serves as the governing unit directly responsible for local services in Barangay Malilitao, including public health, sanitation, peace and order, and civil registration.
