Barangay Taggat Norte

Barangay Taggat Norte is a small barangay in the municipality of Claveria, located in the province of Cagayan, in the Cagayan Valley region of the Philippines.

According to the 2020 Census of Population and Housing conducted by the Philippine Statistics Authority, Barangay Taggat Norte had a population of 1,478. This made it the 4th largest of 41 barangays in Claveria by population, placing it among the most populous barangays of the municipality. Residents of Barangay Taggat Norte accounted for approximately 4.63% of the total population of Claveria, which stood at 31,900 in the same census year.

Between the 2015 and 2020 censuses, the population of Barangay Taggat Norte changed from 1,192 to 1,478, a shift of +24.0% over the five-year period. This places the barangay among those with growing populations in Claveria. The Philippine Statistics Authority classifies Barangay Taggat Norte as rural, a designation applied to barangays with lower population density and predominantly non-built-up land use.

Claveria is a municipality comprising 41 barangays, and serves as the governing unit directly responsible for local services in Barangay Taggat Norte, including public health, sanitation, peace and order, and civil registration. Within the wider province of Cagayan, which contains 820 barangays across its component cities and municipalities, Barangay Taggat Norte ranks 321st by 2020 population.
