Barangay Kinawitan

Barangay Kinawitan is a very small barangay in the municipality of Daraga, located in the province of Albay, in the Bicol Region region of the Philippines.

According to the 2020 Census of Population and Housing conducted by the Philippine Statistics Authority, Barangay Kinawitan had a population of 420. This made it the 52nd largest of 54 barangays in Daraga by population, placing it among the smaller barangays of the municipality. Residents of Barangay Kinawitan accounted for approximately 0.31% of the total population of Daraga, which stood at 133,893 in the same census year.

Census comparisons between 2015 and 2020 show Barangay Kinawitan moving from 451 residents to 420 residents, an intercensal change of -6.9%. The trajectory indicates a contracting community. The Philippine Statistics Authority classifies Barangay Kinawitan as rural, a designation applied to barangays with lower population density and predominantly non-built-up land use.
