Situated in Daraga, Albay, Barangay Namantao is one of 54 barangays that make up the municipality within Bicol Region.

According to the 2020 Census of Population and Housing conducted by the Philippine Statistics Authority, Barangay Namantao had a population of 1,670. This made it the 31st largest of 54 barangays in Daraga by population, placing it in the middle tier of the municipality. Residents of Barangay Namantao accounted for approximately 1.25% of the total population of Daraga, which stood at 133,893 in the same census year.

Between the 2015 and 2020 censuses, the population of Barangay Namantao changed from 1,608 to 1,670, a shift of +3.9% over the five-year period. This places the barangay among those with growing populations in Daraga. The Philippine Statistics Authority classifies Barangay Namantao as rural, a designation applied to barangays with lower population density and predominantly non-built-up land use.
