Barangay Salvacion

Barangay Salvacion is a mid-sized barangay in the municipality of Daraga, located in the province of Albay, in the Bicol Region region of the Philippines.

According to the 2020 Census of Population and Housing conducted by the Philippine Statistics Authority, Barangay Salvacion had a population of 4,350. This made it the 9th largest of 54 barangays in Daraga by population, placing it in the upper half of the municipality. Residents of Barangay Salvacion accounted for approximately 3.25% of the total population of Daraga, which stood at 133,893 in the same census year.

The barangay recorded 3,648 residents in the 2015 intercensal count and 4,350 residents in the 2020 Census — a net change of +19.2%, consistent with a growing settlement. The Philippine Statistics Authority classifies Barangay Salvacion as urban, reflecting the density and built-up character of the area.

Daraga is a municipality comprising 54 barangays, and serves as the governing unit directly responsible for local services in Barangay Salvacion, including public health, sanitation, peace and order, and civil registration. Within the wider province of Albay, which contains 720 barangays across its component cities and municipalities, Barangay Salvacion ranks 56th by 2020 population. Albay is classified as a 1st by the Bureau of Local Government Finance, a category that reflects the province's annual regular income.

Barangay Salvacion is governed by an elected Sangguniang Barangay composed of a Punong Barangay and seven kagawads, with the Sangguniang Kabataan representing the youth. The next BSKE, set for Monday, November 2, 2026, will elect officials to four-year terms as provided under Republic Act No. 12232.
