Barangay Madua Sur

Situated in Duero, Bohol, Barangay Madua Sur is one of 21 barangays that make up the municipality within Central Visayas.

According to the 2020 Census of Population and Housing conducted by the Philippine Statistics Authority, Barangay Madua Sur had a population of 823. This made it the 9th largest of 21 barangays in Duero by population, placing it in the middle tier of the municipality. Residents of Barangay Madua Sur accounted for approximately 4.36% of the total population of Duero, which stood at 18,861 in the same census year.

Between the 2015 and 2020 censuses, the population of Barangay Madua Sur changed from 731 to 823, a shift of +12.6% over the five-year period. This places the barangay among those with growing populations in Duero. The Philippine Statistics Authority classifies Barangay Madua Sur as rural, a designation applied to barangays with lower population density and predominantly non-built-up land use.

Duero is a municipality comprising 21 barangays, and serves as the governing unit directly responsible for local services in Barangay Madua Sur, including public health, sanitation, peace and order, and civil registration.
