Barangay Santa Monica

Classified as a small barangay, Barangay Santa Monica is one of the administrative divisions of Dumalag in Capiz, Western Visayas, Philippines.

According to the 2020 Census of Population and Housing conducted by the Philippine Statistics Authority, Barangay Santa Monica had a population of 558. This made it the 18th largest of 19 barangays in Dumalag by population, placing it among the smaller barangays of the municipality. Residents of Barangay Santa Monica accounted for approximately 1.85% of the total population of Dumalag, which stood at 30,098 in the same census year.

The barangay recorded 567 residents in the 2015 intercensal count and 558 residents in the 2020 Census — a net change of -1.6%, consistent with a broadly stable settlement. The Philippine Statistics Authority classifies Barangay Santa Monica as rural, a designation applied to barangays with lower population density and predominantly non-built-up land use.

Dumalag is a municipality comprising 19 barangays, and serves as the governing unit directly responsible for local services in Barangay Santa Monica, including public health, sanitation, peace and order, and civil registration. Within the wider province of Capiz, which contains 473 barangays across its component cities and municipalities, Barangay Santa Monica ranks 432nd by 2020 population.
