Barangay Tigkiw

Situated in Gubat, Sorsogon, Barangay Tigkiw is one of 42 barangays that make up the municipality within Bicol Region.

According to the 2020 Census of Population and Housing conducted by the Philippine Statistics Authority, Barangay Tigkiw had a population of 1,042. This made it the 30th largest of 42 barangays in Gubat by population, placing it in the middle tier of the municipality. Residents of Barangay Tigkiw accounted for approximately 1.73% of the total population of Gubat, which stood at 60,294 in the same census year.

The barangay recorded 1,019 residents in the 2015 intercensal count and 1,042 residents in the 2020 Census — a net change of +2.3%, consistent with a growing settlement. The Philippine Statistics Authority classifies Barangay Tigkiw as rural, a designation applied to barangays with lower population density and predominantly non-built-up land use.
