Situated in Guinayangan, Quezon, Barangay Ermita is one of 54 barangays that make up the municipality within CALABARZON.

This made it the 50th largest of 54 barangays in Guinayangan by population, placing it among the smaller barangays of the municipality. Residents of Barangay Ermita accounted for approximately 0.57% of the total population of Guinayangan, which stood at 44,045 in the same census year.

Between the 2015 and 2020 censuses, the population of Barangay Ermita changed from 335 to 249, a shift of -25.7% over the five-year period. This places the barangay among those with contracting populations in Guinayangan. Barangay Ermita is officially classified as rural, a designation applied to barangays with lower population density and predominantly non-built-up land use.

Guinayangan is a municipality comprising 54 barangays, and serves as the governing unit directly responsible for local services in Barangay Ermita, including public health, sanitation, peace and order, and civil registration.
