Barangay San Lorenzo

Barangay San Lorenzo is a very small barangay in the municipality of Guinayangan, located in the province of Quezon, in the CALABARZON region of the Philippines.

According to the 2020 Philippine census, Barangay San Lorenzo had a population of 391. This made it the 38th largest of 54 barangays in Guinayangan by population, placing it in the middle tier of the municipality. Residents of Barangay San Lorenzo accounted for approximately 0.89% of the total population of Guinayangan, which stood at 44,045 in the same census year.

The barangay recorded 397 residents in the 2015 intercensal count and 391 residents in the 2020 Census — a net change of -1.5%, consistent with a broadly stable settlement. Barangay San Lorenzo is officially classified as rural, a designation applied to barangays with lower population density and predominantly non-built-up land use.

Guinayangan is a municipality comprising 54 barangays, and serves as the governing unit directly responsible for local services in Barangay San Lorenzo, including public health, sanitation, peace and order, and civil registration. Within the wider province of Quezon, which contains 1,242 barangays across its component cities and municipalities, Barangay San Lorenzo ranks 1021st by 2020 population. Barangay San Lorenzo is governed by an elected Sangguniang Barangay composed of a Punong Barangay and seven kagawads, with the Sangguniang Kabataan representing the youth. The next BSKE, set for Monday, November 2, 2026, will elect officials to four-year terms as provided under Republic Act No. 12232.
